For a fun(?) project, you could make a very basic outdoor pond with a filter... Stops the water going manky. A solar air pump and a sponge filter in a bigger bucket is about all you need. Or with sightly more effort (and cost), a solar air pump and an undergravel filter. Can still buy them on Amazon. I use scoria black from Bunnings for cheap substrate. Cheap solar pump: https://amzn.asia/d/07q2AJOv Cheap sponge filter x 2: https://amzn.asia/d/092iMkDb Alternatively, undergravel filter: https://amzn.asia/d/0isbLWZg Maybe use a plastic container like this? https://www.bunnings.com.au/ezy-storage-16l-assorted-colour-round-flexi-storage-tubs_p0216613 |

Thanks for the info. I have been looking into this idea. I have a tiny "car type" solar panel. I might just hook that up to a pump. I have a couple of aluminium containers that I have been thinking about making like a bit of a waterfall kinda thing. I have spare 12 volt pumps too. I'll have a look at the links you sent another time. Cheers.
Edit. I have just ordered one of these. Lifts the water 6 foot apparently. Not bad for $42 |
