Nitong Huwebes, March 5, dinipensahan ng abogado si Quezon City 4th District Rep. Bong Suntay matapos itonga-bash sa social media dahil sa viral “nag-init” statement nito patungkol kay Anne Curtis.

Kasunod nito ay ang pagtirada kay Jasmine dahil nagsalita ito para ipagtanggol ang kapatid laban sa kongresita.

Pinuna ng abogado ang pagsusuot ng aktres ng bikini photos at pagbabandera nito ng mga larawang sexy sa social media.

“Kayong mga artista, mga ganyan, ikaw, Jasmine, bakit ka nagpo-post ng bikini pictures mo sa social media, sa mga pahayagan—hindi ba para ikaw ay pagnasahan, para ikaw ay sumikat?” saad ni Topacio.

Samantala, ang naturang video clip ni Topacio na kuha mula sa kanyang show ay ibinahagi ng aktres sa kanyang Instagram story.

“YOWWWWW WHAT THE ACTUAL ????? WHAT THE!!!! DUGYOT KA!” gigil na sabi ni Jasmine.

Bukod sa mga pahayag ng abogado laban sa aktres ay ipinagtanggol rin nito ang kongresista at iginiit na walang malo sa sinabi nito.

“‘Yong iniisip mo, hindi ka puwedeng—hindi criminal offense. Kahit anong sama ng iniisip mo, may nakita kang babae na gusto mong gahasain, gusto mong halayin, gusto mong daklutin (ano na, harapan na), hindi kasalanan ‘yon!” tanggol ni Topacio kay Suntay.

Samantala, wala pa namang inilalabas na bagong tugon o pahayag si Topacio kaugnay sa naging realsyon ni Jasmine sa mga sinabi niya.

I obviously disagree with Topacio and Suntay conflating words with thoughts and wish them the absolute hell for everything, but I do see some of the points Topacio raised. Not about Jasmine or Anne, those are just horribly bad arguments. But his point in general.

I've been seeing posts in social media of people telling that women should not be thought of in a male gaze way — but what type of reaction are you expecting when 99% of your posts are thirst-traps? If you post a photo facing away from the camera with your thong out as your skirt rides up while reaching over a cupboard — what type of reaction are you expecting? Are we going to pretend that the 900k male out of your 901k followers aren't following you specifically because they're gooners?

We're policing thoughts na kasi, and that's a slippery slope. Words (and most especially actions) is a completely different thing because that's a choice and governed by actual laws and even basic human decency. But thoughts? It's incredibly naive to expect men to think only of your inner beauty and radiant smile when posting suggestive pics.
