Yet again Netflix kills any hype this could have had by dropping all episodes as a batch 🙄 I'm not even a Beastars fan, it's just frustrating to see how Netflix approaches media distribution

That don't need hype. It's the final season

@wjs018@ani.social Is this thread strictly for discussion of episode 1 only, or is it for the entire season?

Didn't realize this was a batch release. Thanks for the heads up. I will edit the title to make it clear that it can stand as the discussion for the whole release. I would suggest putting discussion points about later episodes in a spoiler block to be safe.

This final season is just as good as previous seasons, keeping me hooked throughout.

It felt a bit rushed towards the end though, with some unresolved plot threads.

spoiler

I don't mind the heavily-condensed epilogue - that shows what happened to some of them afterwards - since it isn't really crucial to the story.

The part I mind is the connection between Melon and the mayor that the show hinted at, but never addressed. The mayor clearly recognised Melon's name when Louis wrote it down. Also, the mayor went to such effort to blackmail Louis' father, which doesn't seem worth the ROI of the surface-level plan.

My guess is that there's some big conspiracy regarding the Zoolympic and fake meat and Melon's plan of segregation.

Something this big should not have been left unresolved IMO.

The positives still heavily outweigh the negatives; I enjoyed it a lot. I'm glad it ended the way it did - though I may need to check the manga out to see all the details that were left out.

Edit:

Another point that should have been addressed is

spoiler

the circumstances surrounding the death of the zebra professor in the first episode. Yes, Melon is highly likely responsible for the prof's fall to the death, but how exactly did it happen? How is the feather connected to the murder? Don't tell me the feather is simply a plot device to get Haru to interact with Melon!!
