I completely disagree, him minmaxxing charisma was the sole reason he was the perfect candidate for the role of being elected and then doing some absolutely vile things.

No, not at all. Trump is very uncharismatic (not that there isn't worse, look at Vance and Miller), Americans are just incredibly stupid marks and the media is very complicit in sanitizing his image.
