The guy on the right suspects the guy on the left is cheating, the guy on the left has no clue what he's doing.

"What's this hand called? Did I win?"

"... a royal flush."

"Flush? Is that bad?"

I got cleaned out in my own home poker game by someone doing exactly this, he never played poker before, had all the luck in the world in his pocket that night, lost 200$ to that dumb prick.

lmao, that reminds me of a story, I forget who exactly of, probably some author or something (who knows, it might just be an old apocryphal anecdote kicking around in my dusty head), being friends with a professional poker player.

One day, the poker player was over while the person's more 'normie' friends were playing poker, and he was jovially invited to play. He was a good sport, but lost a significant amount of money for a casual game. Later, when the guy was talking to the poker player in private, he thanked him for going easy on his friends, and the poker player growled, visibly annoyed now that no one else was around, something along the lines of "Easy, hell! Your friends don't know how to play!"

It's curious, and yet widely applicable - the strategies that work best against skilled opponents aren't always the same which work best against unskilled opponents- or idiots, lmao.

These are officers, not troops generally speaking.

I have no understanding of Imperial German uniforms, and while they looked more like officers, I didn't want to say 'officers' and then someone come in and say "Actually, this form of dress was actually common for noncoms away from the front or warrant officers" or something like that and get me to edit the title. I hate editing the title!

'Troops' felt generic enough to take its place. XD

I get it. I don’t know uniforms either but these are elaborate enough to scream “Officer”. I think it’s the hat more than anything.
