Four panel meme of Mr. Bean cheating on a test.

Then: Government (Mr. Bean) looking at dystopian scifi books and movies (his neighbours test)
Now: Dystopian fiction writers (Mr. Bean) looking at government (his neighbours test)

I feel like the dystopian techbros and super-rich aren't getting enough credit in this meme 🤔😁 @galacticwriters @writers @books @fantasy @bookstodon @joinin@writingbooks @keepwriting @humor@fedigroups.social @humor@lemmy.world @aiop#WritingMemes #Meme #Memes #Humor #Humour #Author #Authors #IndieAuthor #IndieBooks #AmWriting #Writerdons #Writers #Writer #Writing #WritingCommunity #Writinglife #WritersOfMastodon #Bookstodon #Books

I posted this on Bluesky last year from a hacker conference:

"Was talking to a guy yesterday at #Teardown2025 about cyberpunk since he saw my author's copy of The Big Book of Cyberpunk. He said he gets depressed reading dystopian stories. I said I feel the same way when I read the news."
