To me, the Rat 2 is a great example of a "gateway" knife. Something you can give as a gift or point people to as a way of saying "hey, there's more out there than cheap gas station knives that actually work!" The squared-off spine, while not comfortable for whittling, is sure useful in fire building and fire starting (and you can always round off part of it, if you'd like). Nothing new here, for sure, just a post of appreciation for one of my first "real" knives I purchased. |
