I recently bought Balatro and discovered that the PC game can be converted into a Android APK through tools like balatro-mobile-maker and now I was wondering if this is the case for more games. Do you know any other games were something like this is possible? |

Not exactly what you are looking for but there are tons of source ports: https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Emulators_on_Android#Source_ports/re-implementations Also there are quite a few Windows "emulators" for Android around. But IDK what the current hotness is right now. I havent kept up since the android hardware i own is too weak either way. A few years back i grabbed a few fan ported Unity games on a discord server. But i dont remember the details sadly. |

I think this particular situation is probably a bit unique - Balatro is made with the LÖVE game engine, where the game is written in Lua, an interpreted language which has a runtime package for mobile platforms. Balatro also happens to work quite well on the mobile form factor out of the box. These factors put together made it possible to create the mobile port with not that much effort for a third party. All of them needed to be in place for it to work as well the next time. |

https://github.com/utkarshdalal/GameNative I've used gamenative to play balatro on my phone and it worked surprisingly well. It's amazing how good PC emulation on android has become. |

Does this mean it doesn't require any Google play services to work? I really liked balatro and would love playing it on mobile but I've disabled all the Google services on my phone. |

Old post, but besides what the others mentioned, there's JoiPlay and ScummVM which act as binaries for the respective engines they support, if that's within scope. Also more traditional conversions that come to mind are of Va-11 Hall-A, Ren'Py-powered games, and PICO-8-powered games. |

Thanks for the info, not that much into VNs but definitely will remember JoiPlay, seems like a cool project. In the mean time after the post I got some native DRM free android games, so I'm good for now |
