It is an odd moment in history that helicopters have never had more of an impact on geopolitics and yet they have never been more ignored by the world as a significant player in geopolitics. It is truly incredibly to look back on the Venezeula operation and see the rest of the world is still deluding itself about the dominance of rotary wing military power.

Ultimately the blindspot around helicopters is bad for everyone, it makes escalation more likely as the world is already confident the US could never pull off another aerial assault and the US can. I hope we don't but it is not a good idea to act like the US can't.

No drones don't make helicopters obsolete, they make fixed, static airfields obsolete which makes helicopters geopolitically even more powerful.
