Should you smoke? Should you get enough sleep? Should you exercise regularly? Should you eat healthy? I have answers to these questions, for my own life. There's many more, some of which come up every day or many times a day, some of which come up once in a blue moon or that haven't even come up yet, I'm sure, but even if we stick to the everyday sort, I find that, though I have the answers, I still don't do as I should. Isn't that weird? Why don't I do what I think I should? Why do I slack, waste time, procrastinate... Why not live as I think I should? Well, I think I should live how I think I should. These days, I've been better about this. I've been on my phone less, reading more, learning, even working more (that one wasn't really my choice, to be fair); I've been more diligent and responsible. I've still managed to fail and fall short of my goals, but I feel like, as long as I'm doing what I think I should at any given time, failure doesn't seem so bad. I tried, I did everything I should, so if I failed, it just wasn't meant to be! It's an odd feeling... I'm getting that feeling particularly with my language learning. I haven't been doing much of that at all, but it's because I've been doing other things that I think I should do, as well, so I don't feel bad for falling short at languages. I guess, in a way, it doesn't feel like failing at all; it's just prioritising. I'm not slacking at languages, I'm just prioritising reading other things, or my career, or working out -- all things that I care about. Hopefully, one day, I'll be able to live wholly as I think I should. I wore those black trousers again... They're really nice and cool. I love them! |
