I think she's betting long term for when the orange baby dies and the implosion of his cult of personality takes a lot of the GOP with it. If that happens she can point to her new record and position herself as the return to sanity whilst also still being a republican which gives current and then ex-maga supporters an out without having to admit that their shitty morals is what got the petty petulant perpetual pants pooper into power.
