I believe we've managed to breed dogs to the point where they understand pointing as a directional signal, right?

Some do, some don't. I've had dogs all my life, and I've never been able to get a dog to understand pointing that doesn't innately get it. Some dogs are just........dumb.

Don't get me wrong, they're all beautiful good boys who don't need to be smart to be perfect dogs........but yeah. Some dogs are dumb.

Yeah i try to "throw" my finger towards the ball. Sometimes it works. The other 99.9% of the time it doesn't.

Yea my dog quickly picked up on it. If a dog doesnt learn itself, then you could easily train it into them.

Are they dumb for not understanding? Or are we dumb for thinking they should?
