Sorry to be emphatic with truly but I'm tired of liberals perpetuating this idea that not only is Latino a racial category but it is a word used to describe brown Hispanic people (cuz fuck Brazilians amirite) who are all illegal immigrants and we all work as housekeepers or in farms. And we're also too stupid to think for ourselves.

Latinos are more like a pan-ethnic group that is very diverse in ethnic origins (e.g European, African, Arab, Amerindian, etc) and diversity in political opinions. No, not every Latino is a Democrat and most couldn't be bothered by identity politics or "representation". Latinos get plenty of representation in the media from Latin America or whatever Univision has. So stuff like OscarsSoWhite is trivial. Also, when statistics show how the Latino population is growing, it doesn't mean immigrants it means US born children or grandchildren of earlier immigrants. And then there are Puerto Ricans who are US citizens moving to mainland US. Hyperfixating on immigration to pander Latinos is pointless.

Finally, diaspora isn't representative of Latinos actually from Latin America. There tends to be a big class and education divide, sometimes even racial :Argentinians, Costa Ricans and Cubans in the US tend to be whiter and more educated compared to their countrymen, Mexicans and their descendants tend to be poorer and darker skinned due to poorer dark skinned more indigenous Mexicans being the ones to migrate most, descendants of Puerto Ricans in the mainland, especially in NYC are also poorer and darker skinned due to the migration of poorer afro Puerto Ricans in the North going to the mainland for better opportunity while the whiter /more criollo population stayed, etc. But many liberals think Chicanos, Miami Cubans and Nuyoricans are the face of all Latinos and nationalities are interchangeable with race...If I could have a penny for everytime I heard or read online how Mexicans are all indigenous or how all Brazilians and Puerto Ricans are monolithically black, I could pay my mortgage.

Latinos are largely working class (79%) on top of that. But all of these things are as complex as trigonometry and quantum mechanics to liberals.

I hate the term Latinx. It’s revolting

We are not Latin. We are Hispanic.

If you need a gender neutral term. Use Hispanic.
