"The Miracle on the Hudson", that double-bird-strike airliner which ditched without hitting any boats..

The copilot somehow did restart-cycles on BOTH engines, in the little time they had left..

Sully fought against the it-was-1-hero bullshit that the president was pulling, but to no avail..

He insisted it was the TEAM, which is exactly what they train in, nowadays: crew resource-management: the more minds consider a problem, the less likely a stupid fatal-mistake will get everyone aboard dead.

The FAA calls the single most-lethal-factor in all of aviation "captainitis".

I wonder if it's narcissism that motivates that single-hero-only-not-team-nor-movement thing in our kind..?

unconsciously wanting it to be only-me, therefore ignoring team, & insisting that significance must be only-individual..

so celebrity would then be displaced-narcissism?

I wonder..

hmm..
