On an entirely tangential and unrelated note, the merriam-webster definition of genocide is “the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group.” and the definition for ethnic cleansing is “the expulsion, imprisonment, or killing of an ethnic minority by a dominant majority in order to achieve ethnic homogeneity.”

Also, god bless the failing new york times for writing this article, then arriving to the conclusion that “Its a shame that hezbollah did this.”

Israel has a fertility rate of almost three children per woman and rapidly rising housing prices. The settlements in the West Bank, the “security zone” in Gaza, and the occupation of Lebanon are as much to create, uh, space for their people to live in, as they are to secure regional hegemony.
