And the answer is, they didn’t see. They weren’t looking. A lot of people really did become neoliberal subjects where they thought they were isolated individuals and family units distinct from political economy or what they hear on the news even. Oh that thing that now counts for 10% of GDP, is advertised everywhere, and is readily accessible on every phone reached my son? How?!
