I'm reading "One, None, and a Hundred Grand" by Luigi Pirandello. It's been good, so far! The whole identity thing has been resonating with me a little bit, though not too much, thankfully. I can imagine this might have a more sinister effect on someone perhaps less accustomed to questioning their own self... But, thankfully, my own self-image has been tainted by just a little too much self-reflection, over the years. Anyway, nice book! It's very funny, and though not much has happened yet, and I don't really foresee many things happening in the some 30% left of the book, it feels like much has been discussed; much has developed; and it feels full, despite how seemingly empty it is. It's a monologue and a dialogue with the reader. It's a compelling format, I find. I am slightly concerned about what to read next, though, as well as by the rerealisation that I don't do well with reading 2 books simultaneously. I really want to, but I don't think I have it in me. Oh well! I wore my black pants. |
