Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is calling on the government to temporarily pause federal taxes on gas and diesel for the remainder of the year.

Poilievre said this would save about 25 cents a litre on gas, and called on the government to pay for what he said was the $5.25 billion cost of such a tax cut by cutting wasteful spending.
