I kept reading Notes from Underground, by Dosto. It's depressed me. I hate hate hate detestable characters! FUCK! The Underground Man is incredibly detestable. I hate him. I don't see myself in him at all! How unfortunate. This book is feeling like a trainwreck in slow-motion, and I feel compelled to look away about as much as I feel compelled to pay Dosto his respects and finish the damn thing. It is well-written and generally enjoyable, aesthetically, but the fucking plot is driving me nuts. Anyway, I wore my black trousers today. |
