"Tap to Share" is essentially AirDrop with extra steps. Android has had Nearby Share for a while, but Google is framing this as something new by wrapping it in a slicker UX and tying it directly to Contacts and Files. The gallery screenshots show a tap-based flow that looks clean, but if the underlying transfer tech has not changed much from Nearby Share, the experience will still depend on whether both devices have the right hardware and software combination. Will this actually work across manufacturers, or is this another Pixel-exclusive beta feature in disguise?
