I bet there's a bunch of Ukranians in Alberta who would enjoy a face to face meet up with him. |

Yup, they're International Democracy Union brothers. Given what Harper was doing to our democracy, he was probably looking up to Orban. |

To be fair the overton window in Canada has shifted significantly in the last 20 years. Carney and Harper are roughly the same brand of neoliberalism. Don't get me wrong, PP is a disaster. But the left, anything even remotely resembled the left, has essentially crumbled to dust... and everything just drifts right. Like, who loves gutting environmental protections, consultation process, omnibus bills, and advancing surveillance and police powers? The only difference between them is who the "other guy" was/is. Harper was 100x worse than Layton. PP is 100x worse than Carney. |

Tend to agree, yeah. Carney doesn't appear as anti-democratic as Harper, so far. Harper muzzled scientists, removed per-vote subsidies, fucked around with donation rules to advantage the CPC, etc. Apart from that there's a lot of similarities between the two, especially on the economic front. The overton window has def shifted and that's harming us. |
