Anyone can downvote. Reddit's problem is harvesting human input for bots to consume, then getting rid of said humans who provide inputs to the bots they don't like. |

As I always said when I was on it, don’t sweat the downvotes. Reddit has an algorithm that games the voting system, in both directions. I would post something that would be immediately downvoted, and five minutes later it had ten upvotes. I would post an article that would have a thousand upvotes, and my karma breakdown would show…ten. (I would post something and be downvoted to hell; someone else would post the exact same thing and get 500 upvotes.) Don’t worry about the karma. |
