Culturally speaking, these tech elites are coded very differently from charismatic Holy Rollers who have had a long tradition of promising their followers that adherence to Christian faith and practices will yield material wealth. But essentially, they are offering a similar, though slightly inverted proposition:

Tech can make you rich and a good Christian. Call it the prosperity gospel of technology. Much in the way they have shaped culture with social media algorithms, tech evangelists now are attempting to normalize the use and acceptance of AI by wrapping it in a spiritual message. They also have explicit policy goals, and the Trump administration appears to be heeding their call, with new federal efforts aimed at unshackling AI from safety regulations.

tech lies to you, and nickles and dimes for subscriptions. those same subscriptions are usually required to migitage problems that the vary companies have created in hopes of extorting you for money... by offering services/solutions to the problems they created in the first place.

do not... ever.... trust a company.

if a company approaches you, run.. scream rape and run, or stand your ground and verbally fight them to show others how predatory they are. corporations, especially tech want nothing more then to abuse and rape you as much as possible. you are nothing to them, you are disposable.

make them irrelevant

The AI bros deciding to target the dumbest and most gullible demographic shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Stupid people genuinely believe the slop AI feeds them. Making them useful consumers for the tech bros.

I dunno, most of the dumbest, most gullible techbros I have met have been staunch... rather toxic... atheists.

I am always so happy I read this book because Frank Herbert was way ahead of his time. Dude was a prognosticator!

I suspect that if we ever achieve a true Artificial Intelligence, it's going to be the same as the end of that book.

I think it misunderstands the role of fairy tales to point at them and say crudely "Well that obviously couldn't have happened! Worthless!".
