Oh snap. But yea, I guess I've moved to just watching whatever they're streaming on YouTube at the time. |

Much as I love MST3K, including this era, the Gizmoplex always was a bit of a weird haphazard reach that never felt to me like it was working all that well. On the tech side they apparently just put a shell on a branded VHX/Vimeo store, but it never really lived up to the "let's build the Gizmoplex!" idea sold to that round of MST's Kickstarter backers. I'm a bit relieved I got hold of the Season Thirteen blu-ray set from Shout! Factory, which looks like it may be out-of-print now; it does not appear to be on the site Gruv which took over Shout's online store. (There do currently seem to be a few copies on eBay at not-insane prices for the moment.) Worth noting that Vimeo seems to have already been on pretty shaky ground since they got acquired last year and laid off almost all their staff in January. This may be the ultimate reason for the end of the Gizmoplex. |
