Personally, I’m willing to accept a flop for the 26 World Cup in exchange for a banging 31 World Cup:

Under the new model Fifa is responsible for broadcast rights, sponsorship and ticket sales and keeps the revenue, and host venues and cities are charged with paying for “safety, security and protection”, which has led to tension. In addition to widespread complaints over ticket prices that rise to $10,990 (£8,100) for the final, there have been problems between Fifa and US cities in particular over ancillary costs.

FIFA should just be dissolved and ignored. Fuck that corrupt racket.

I mean, it’s your time and energy, spend it how you will. I’m mostly just disappointed that the online discourse hasn’t evolved past the “just ignore that corrupt racket” stuff we were posting in the run-up to the last men’s World Cup the US hosted, and I’m ready for a more nuanced plan of action.
