Fun Fact! The first Roman Emperor, Augustus, commissioned a massive map of the Roman Empire at the time to be inscribed in the city of Rome for public use. The thinking was, anyone in need of orientation could copy (and spread) the map freely, so that in a time of poor geographical awareness, people might actually make it from Point A to Point B with a minimum of detours and trying to question locals through a language barrier!
