@codewizard@hear-me.social Yes - through the "Record Track" feature in the main menu 🙂

Incidentally, CoMaps is on the Fediverse too! You can follow them at @CoMaps@floss.social

PieFed is a link aggregator. Mastodon is a texting platform. They are different paradigms. While they both use ActivityPub to share information, they do not each mirror the core functions of the other.

It would be like asking Mobilizon, the ActivityPub events manager, to also support texting and communities. It wouldn't make sense. Its core function is scheduling and managing events. It uses ActivityPub so people can see event information and updates in their Mastodon account, but people can't schedule or change events from Mastodon.

@osmindia@en.osm.town can we plot our own points while using Comaps ??

I travel long distances cycling, and if Comaps have that feature where we can put in our live locations on the map, a wonderful trail would emerge.

@MastKalandar Not sure what you mean...you can make personal bookmarks, you can share any place from CoMaps with others, you can record a track as you travel, and you can share those tracks with others.Unfortunately, there's no live location sharing in CoMaps - for now. You might like to check out NextCloud Maps and Hauk. There's an open issue here with a good discussion of the feature and its problems -codeberg.org/comaps/comaps/iss

@MastKalandar You can tap on any place on the map and press Save to create a bookmark.To record a track, press the Menu button - Record Track. A red circle should appear in the top-right corner - tap it to stop recording.

@MastKalandar The recorded track goes into your bookmarks. You can tap on a track visible on the map, or go into the Bookmarks menu and select the track, then press the Share icon. You'll be asked to "Export as GPX" or "Export as KMZ" - that will share it with other apps or people. Both are popular formats and are supported by most map applications.

@MastKalandar

Screenshot of the lower half of the CoMaps interface, with the bookmarks menu encircled with a crudely-drawn thick red line.
