How overrated it seemed to be. But I was young and curious and willing to give the whole thing several chances. 28 years and 25 partners later I finally found a guy who had learned about both female anatomy and patience ... Just imagine the fun we could all have with proper sex education.

Whaaaaaaat? Were you disappointed with the ‘even if you use a condom you WILL get pregnant! Now here’s 100 pictures of STI horrors!’ Class? Strange, it’s so comprehensive!

I mean, I like sex, it’s fun to me, but yeah, the amount of people who not only don’t know, but don’t care to know how to please their partner is sad.

The first time I used a strap on with another girl I remember being shocked how low the vagina was! I own one and somehow never realised that things don't line up the way you think.

As a trans woman I want to make a new strap on that goes in the "right" place. They all seem so high, like I get it is easier for stability but it needs to be lower.

Ive had more partners know what to do, vs not.. Im so sorry this is your expierence

as long as they "warm ya up" Ive always had a good time. Losing my viginity was.. uh wierd, but once the awkardness passed, nothing was odd. I did stop a fella once and told him he was fuckin me like a beached floppy fish. A month later, this was no longer a problem, and at the time, that same partner became a fantasic lay, surpassing my expectations.

you gotta teach a little, least I did in my 20s when we're all noobs.

Hahahhaah i had a gym teacher go on and on about how "the anus is not designed to stretch" and despite it being the early 90's enough of the internet existed to completely derail her propaganda

How underwhelming and mundane it is. Given how weirdly obsessed society seems to be about it, I expected more.

Finding out that actually enjoying sex doesn't "come naturally". That sex is a skill, like any other, that improves with experience and, as in the case of any skill involving teamwork, is only as good as the worst member participating.

Technique is a thing. Individual preference is a thing. It's why we have to explore our partners' bodies and tastes ... as well as our own. (Yes, I'm saying that if you don't masturbate you're not going to be able to communicate what you like to your partner.)

"Teach a little" is a key takeaway point. NOTHING about sexuality is intrinsic knowledge. Hell most people don't know their own arousal cycle unless they, you know, practice and try it out themselves. Communication is key after that.

We put down a towel every time, which has been helpful more than you'd expect

This is actually a huge factor in good sex, everything else can align but not literally aligning can ruin the whole thing

The suggestion is appreciated, but no, not for me. The mess is in the crotch.

Urban Catholic school in 90's Northern Europe. They couldn't get away with ignoring sex education entirely or invent their own version, but it was limited to rushing through the obligatory anatomy pages in our biology book. My parents weren't really helpful either. Before the internet was a thing I just used pop culture and literature to guess what sex was supposed to be. Then I'd place myself strategically in front of my many crushes and hoped sex would happen to me. Now that I understand sex better and lost my last shame and brain cells it's great fun - but alas the days where none of us has pain and/or is busy are few.

The only thing that stands out in my memory of those young foibles was my out-of-control BUSH. My lack of self- awareness & personal grooming, UGH. In my thirties I finally got laser hair removal.

Omg. I clearly had to deal with the American school system so my class was bad, but at least it wasn’t catholic, just a public school. I can’t imagine, and I’m so sorry! :(
