An excellent metaphor for non-reconstructive or gender affirming plastic surgery as well. (From my perspective, you’re welcome to disagree)

It’s okay to have a little cosmetic surgery as a treat

I can assure you, my gender affirming surgery wasn’t done by someone in bad faith who had the explicit goal of killing me and packaging me to eat later.

The actual fuck, dude?

Why? Explain please. I'd like to know just how wrong you are

I consider this a perfect metaphor for my desire to be eaten by a terrifying yet alluring spider monster.

Just a heads up, “non-“ can extend to the following ideas in a list if they make sense with context. It’s often used in literature to avoid sounding repetitive. Given the mini-sentence structure dump, can you recognize that I support you and your transition from the bottom of my heart?

Because trans people deserve to feel comfortable in their bodies and surgery is a useful tool for that purpose

If I'm reading you correctly, you're meaning "non-reconstructive" and "non-gender-affirming", i.e. you're only pointing at "Mar-a-lago-face" and similar.

I think everyone's read you as though you were pointing at gender-affirming, though that seemingly wasn't your intention.

Precisely. I can’t really fault someone for misunderstanding, but I still find their response to trans inclusiveness with unfamiliar grammar funny.

It can, but it's often better not to do so to avoid confusion. Especially when it's something that's under heavy attack these days.

Nah, this is more a perfect metaphor of looksmaxxing grifters and similar folks leading youths into toxic lifestyles.

On lemmy, a site that has an overwhelmingly trans positive atmosphere, with a multi-year-old account from an instance that bans bigotry, commenting on an instance that would certainly ban abject bigotry. At a certain point, it’s silly.

If I read that someone on kiwi farms prolifically used the n word, I wouldn’t wonder whether they were black.

That being said, you could also edit your comment to avoid confusion.

You’re right. By the time I had discovered the misunderstanding, I figured no one new would see it. The continued post attention is a surprise.

Edit: mod beat me with a removal
