So my out of state sister-in-law’s high school graduation is next week, and she mainly wants cash/computer set-up parts. Totally understandable and normal thing to want for graduation, and my husband and I will be doing that. I also wanted to gift her a cute pin I found on Etsy (it’s a girl on a computer with a bunch of cats blocking her).

My husband and I will be flying from MN to their state. I decided that since it was a 50/50 chance that it would arrive before our flight, I’d just have it shipped to her parents’ house and collect/wrap it there before I gift it to her.

It arrived yesterday. My mother-in-law didn’t read who the package was for and opened it. (Definitely doesn’t help that I share the same first initial and last name as both my SIL and MIL) She knew it was something her daughter would like and showed it to her, asking if it was hers(SIL’s)

…so now my SIL knows about the pin and is expecting it instead of it being a surprise lol. A very minor TIFU, but I hope you enjoy it all the same.

(Edit to clarify which person “hers” refers to)

TL;DR: I shipped my SIL’s gift to her parent’s house and her parents showed it to her before I had the chance to gift it.
