I was listening to an interview of a progressive in my country. And based from his observation, he mentioned many politicians just don't care. Like, really don't care. There is a reason as to why politics is said to be where psychopaths coverge, because they want positions of power for power's sake. So that explains why many politicians really don't care. |

You blame victims of genocide for their own oppression, and now you're accusing me of being a bot. This is projection, as you have no humanity yourself.
They were talking about ICE destroying their own country you bumbling fool. |

When you have majority of funding through corporations, why will the politicians care about people? If people start lobbying and competing for money, the politicians will start caring |

You could search and replace a few words in Anne Frank's Diary and make it happen in Minneapolis today. |

Iraq did not collapse due to the Baath party members taking over. It collapsed due too few competent people in positions of power. That opened up the prisons and allowed the Baath party members to take over. Killing them would not have stopped Iraq from collapsing, when the US left.
For whatever reason I thought you were talking about ww2 and the nazis. I must have not been paying enough attention scrolling the chain |

"In the United States of America". The birthplace of freedom and democracy. The beacon of light and justice in the world. So strange that it is happening over there. Who could have seen this coming? One could expect this to happen anywhere, but in the United States of America? No way.
I really prefer when people write "/s" for sarcasm. With Poe's Law and all it is virtually impossible to distinguish sarcasm on the written internet. |

This is what your grandparents fought and died for to prevent from ever happening again.
It was pretty much still happening in the South while those grandparents were busy fighting it elsewhere. And it continued to happen in the US south for decades after WWII. |

Legal bribery aka lobbying needs to be taken out of politics. Money shouldn't be involved but it is unfortunately. Even the most 'sacred' position is now head by a literal businessman |

I know, I usually do. But with this I thought it was laid on thick enough so the people who read it as sarcasm read it as sarcasm and the people who don't deserve to live in confusion. |

ICE doesn't have a city, they are not people but a legal entity. The individual people who joined ICE are traitors and are thus not American. ICE cannot destroy "their own city." That doesn't make any sense. |

"Their own country" and they claim the country as their own. |

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denazification Soviet zone: From the beginning, denazification in the Soviet zone was considered a critical element of the transformation into a socialist society and was quickly and effectively implemented. Members of the Nazi Party and its organizations were often brutally beaten before being arrested and interned. The NKVD was directly in charge of this process ...
Well yeah, killing the Nazis is effective denazification, I don't object to that in any measure. You didn't say "kill all the Nazis" though, you said "kill all the Germans" |

They actually expend substantial effort and sums of money to find this out And yet here we are, so clearly they're either drawing the wrong conclusions or they just don't care. Either way, it's not an effective strategy. voting for them anyway if they do something absolutely abhorrent and beyond any kind of humanity tells them they can get away with anything and is just a race to the bottom. El...
I understand the appeal of this idea. It makes sense. But bear with me for a minute. Imagine a world where the democratic party really was as bad as the republican party, except they would give one grain of rice more to one prisoner in the concentration camp. Would you vote for that party? Do you have a line at all beyond which you wouldn't vote for someone? |

But in the actual election, vote strategically against the most abhorrent and least humane candidate, or you're liable to get them. I understand the appeal of this idea. It makes sense. Sure, every grain of rice helps. If polling indicates that they are the only two parties with a chance of winning, voting for anyone else serves no purpose. Obviously this would highlight the need to take actions outside voting, but what's the point of wasting a vote doing nothing, even if all you get is a single grain of rice? |

Alright, fair enough I guess. I used to think this way too, but I changed my mind about it. I don't think that voting is actually value neutral, but rather affirmative consent for what the people you vote for then go on to do. There are practical aspects to it - I think it sucks the energy out of taking other actions outside of voting, and gives the winner of the election legitimacy in the eyes of normal people who are kind of checked out - but beyond that I think it morally ties you to the program of the party you voted for. I don't think someone has to be perfect to be able to vote for them, but there is a line beyond which it is too far. After that, the only thing left to do is to take actions outside voting and not get distracted by the circus. |

I disagree. I don't think it really sucks any energy out of anything else at all, it's one or two hours every couple years. And I don't think the handful of people who would otherwise not vote would shift the perception of normal people. Not do I think strategic voting morally ties you to anything. It's a harm reduction action. You didn't have to get distracted by the circus, and nothing stops you from taking actions outside voting. |

It is extremely inappropriate of you to refer to America as ICE's country. |

You think America belongs to ICE, and thus they are irrational for destroying what belongs to them? |

That is not what was implied. I'm beginning to wonder if you are a non-native English speaker. ICE belongs to America not the other way around. Right now it's being used as a tool of intimidation by our executive branch. The people who are members of ICE all claim the US as their state of residence/origin. It is irrational that they destroy what is their home. This will be my last message to you. Hope you figured it out. |

No dude, I'm saying these people are traitors and are not American. I don't give a fuck what a fascist paperwork says, interesting that paperwork suddenly matters when it's their identity and not someone else's. ICE are invaders. Of course they claim the culture and people they are invading are somehow theirs. Perhaps you're the one with the poor reading comprehension if you can't understand what I'm trying to say. |
